Agaves constitute a group of key plants, both for their abundance and for the resources they provide to the ecosystems in which they are found. The great variety of shapes, sizes and colors, as well as its majestic inflorescence, mean that they cannot go unnoticed by the visitor, to such an extent that, together with chili, corn and nopal, they have been considered icons of what Mexican all over the world. This assessment is not entirely wrong, since in Mexico we have the largest number of species and endemisms of the genus. Of the more than 200 species of Agave that exist in the world, more than 79.2% live in our territory, of which 143 (73.3%) are endemic.

El Merkado and Koral Center, taking advantage of their strategic location, will hold the Agave Fair for the first time, where it is intended to integrate several brands of distillates to carry out a kemesse-type coexistence with interaction of the general public with the different exhibitors and learn about its history and elaboration process.
